The River Café

... was originally the "staff café" (according to Wikipedia) for the architectural practice of Richard (Lord) Rogers; Ruth Rogers, who was born in New York state and came to Britain as a student, is Lord Rogers's wife. (Lord Rogers was born in Florence, his ancestors on his father's side having moved from Sunderland to Venice around 1800.)

Rose Gray died in 2010, since when Ruth Rogers has been the café's sole owner and manager.
